Kliping ("Kliping", "we", "us", or "our") provides an AI-powered video editing platform that automatically edits, captions, and enhances videos you upload ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form) when you register.
- Content you upload: the video and audio files you submit for processing, and the edited videos the Service produces for you.
- Payment information: payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number. We keep records of your plan, transaction amounts, dates, and billing status.
- Usage and log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken in your dashboard, used for security and to improve the Service.
- Support communications: messages and attachments you send us through the contact form or support tickets.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate the Service: process the videos you upload, deliver the edited results to your account, and manage your processing-minutes balance.
- To process subscription payments and send billing-related emails (receipts, renewal and expiry notices).
- To respond to support requests and service inquiries.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To analyze aggregate usage so we can improve features and performance.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded videos for advertising or to train models unrelated to delivering the Service to you.
How Your Videos Are Handled
Videos you upload are transmitted over encrypted connections and processed automatically on secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud). Your source and rendered files are used solely to provide the Service to you: they are not shared with other users, published, or reviewed by humans except where strictly necessary for technical support you request or for abuse investigation. Rendered videos remain available in your account so you can download them; source uploads may be removed from processing servers once rendering completes.
Sharing Your Information
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only to the extent needed for their function:
- Stripe — payment processing (see Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy).
- Cloud infrastructure providers (including Google Cloud) — hosting and video rendering.
- Email delivery providers — transactional emails such as receipts and password resets.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our legal rights, or as part of a business transfer, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data.
Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Billing records are retained as required for accounting and tax purposes. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete or anonymize your personal data and your stored videos within a reasonable period, except where the law requires longer retention.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, restricted access to production systems, and rate-limiting against abuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law in the unlikely event of a data breach affecting you.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the Service to work (session and security cookies) and, where enabled, basic analytics cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent you from logging in. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page; we will respond within a reasonable timeframe and no later than required by applicable law.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest revision, and material changes will be announced on the website or by email before they take effect.
